Metaverse Standards Forum Invites D-Link to Work with SDOs on Standardization in an Effort to Speed Up Future Developments

July 18, 2022; TAIPEI, TAIWAN -D-Link Corporation, the first networking equipment company to join the Metaverse Standards Forum, has announced its participation. To facilitate consensus on the criteria and priorities for Metaverse interoperability standards, a new governing organization called the Metaverse Standards Forum has been formed. The foundations for a free and accessible Metaverse will be companies and organizations that contribute to the core standards. D-Link will work with SDOs from a variety of industries as principal members to expedite the implementation of Metaverse standards.

The Metaverse will be used by 25% of people every day for work, shopping, education, socializing, and leisure, according to a recent Gartner report, and 30% of global enterprises will have products and services ready for the Metaverse by 2026. Tech titans are banking on the Metaverse Standards Forum to accelerate the industry’s development and evolution by addressing the core issue of interoperability in the early phases of the Metaverse.

“The Metaverse is where humans from diverse cultures interact through immersive experiences in a virtual world. To realize its full potential, the Metaverse must be built on open standards with interoperability and consistency to bring various domains together,” said CJ Chang, CEO of D-Link Corporation. “As a global leader in networking and connectivity solutions, D-Link is proud to join the Metaverse Standards Forum at the early stages of its establishment. We intend to collaborate with partners from many industries to make the Metaverse a better experience for all through standardization.”
